About Loka
Loka is an inspiring and innovative school working toward a new mainstream in education—one where academic learning, creative capability, and real-life skills go hand in hand. Set on Loka’s 2.4-hectare land with flower gardens, farming fields, handcrafted classrooms, and play spaces, Loka offers an active learning environment where students build strong analytical thinking, self-awareness, and practical confidence.
The Roles
We are seeking energetic, hands-on Primary Teachers for Mathematics, Hindi, and Science. Rather than relying on mechanical rote learning or textbook memorization, educators at Loka bring subjects to life through active inquiry, practical projects, visual experiments, and real-world connections on our farm and in daily life. At Loka, teachers learn and build alongside their students every day.
What We Look For
- Subject & Pedagogical Depth: Strong foundational knowledge in Mathematics, Hindi, or Science, with a passion for teaching subjects intuitively, creatively, and through project-based learning.
- Child-Centered Pedagogy: Alignment with hands-on, inquiry-driven approaches like Reggio Emilia, Montessori, Auroville, or Krishnamurti schools.
- Patience & Positive Practice: Strong communication in Hindi and functional English, a non-violent approach to discipline, and the ability to connect deeply with village youth.
- Community Focus: Readiness to live and contribute fully within a vibrant residential school community.
What We Offer
- A beautiful, safe, and green environment to work in.
- Private room with an attached bathroom, plus wholesome daily meals.
- Ongoing mentoring, skill-building courses, and collaboration with visiting international educators.
- A fair salary reflecting your education and experience.
To Apply
Send your resume along with:
- A brief description of a hands-on project, experiment, or creative learning activity you have personally run with children in your subject area.
- A short note on why you feel aligned to working at Loka’s school.
